White Shaker Kitchen with Marble Island
A bright, symmetrical kitchen built around a large marble-topped island with seating for the whole family.
This is roughly six feet of wall, and it holds a prep sink, a beverage refrigerator, glassware storage and counter space for serving. Stock cabinetry could not have fitted all of it.
The glass fronts with mullion detailing keep the upper run from feeling like a solid block in a small space, while the deep green finish gives the alcove its own identity separate from the main kitchen.
A stacked stone backsplash behind the sink adds texture at the one point in the run where the eye naturally lands.
